The focus of this upgrade has been a redesigned interface. Don't worry--All of the tools you're accustomed to using are still there, but the look and feel has been updated.
A few highlights:
- "Minibar" -- (yes, that's what they call it) A universal navigation bar at the very top of the screen. It contains consistent links to course sites, alerts, and personal settings.
- Instructors: For the Fall 2012 semester, courses using the default navbar (not having made any changes to it), will appear with the new navbar settings, which include the dropdown menus. Active courses with customized navbars have carried through the upgrade. You may find that you prefer to edit it to take advantage of the new style.
- Some other improvements will impact students more specifically include improved IM functionality and more notifications options (including approaching quiz end dates and when grades are posted).
